Good morning. The Palisades fire videos are absolutely horrifying. I hope everyone in LA is staying safe.
Meanwhile, it’s dangerously cold in New York. It’s time to break out the Nuptse jackets, Heattech, and Acne scarves, people.
The reviews are in: This season’s hottest new flavor is cherry cola. Many know I’m a staunch defender of cola being the optimal Celsius flavor. I don’t want anything with Vibes in the name, and I definitely don’t want anything with guava. Give me a zero-sugar, highly-caffeinated alternative to Coke that kind of hits the mark.
Prayers up for this person:
Also, Starbucks added a cortado to its menu. Big news for fellow heads of the top-tier espresso beverage. Now, the small serving size (typically 4oz) is its selling point (you don’t need an entire cup of milk), yet also its biggest drawback (I drink it too quickly, and then I need more). Bafflingly, Starbucks’ version is 8oz, which feels wrong (and yet I am intrigued).
Interview had Jeremy Fragrance go around New York to smell things. There’s a startling lack of coverage on how things smell, and the David Brandon Geeting photos here are great. If you are not familiar with Jeremy Fragrance, his TikTok bio lists him as “The Number 1 Fragrance Icon That Follows The Teachings Of Jesus.”
“Cheese pizza is one of the most pleasant food smells that exist. [Sniffs] This smells fatty and cheesy and a bit like baked bread. I want to have sex, but not with that pizza.”
Bluesky says they have over 25.9M users. Over half of those were added in the last month and a half of 2024 and they are now valued around $700M. I need to give it a proper look sometime but I’m worried that when you take out all the crazy people from Twitter you throw off the balance that makes it so great.
Friendship ended with Lyft. Now Uber is Delta’s best friend. This just feels right.
